Handblown amber vase

This handblown amber glass vase is patterned with a single streak of black glass in an elegant arc from base to lip, which emphasizes the verticality of the piece. This streak was applied using glass cane in a contemporary take on an ancient technique. 

Each of my vases is made individually and has a unique shape and pattern. Because this is hand-blown, there are small bubbles and tool marks present in the piece. These are artifacts of the process and are not considered flaws in the product. The base of this vase has been cold-worked and has a matte finish. This vase is a piece of art and is signed and dated by the artist. And it it a practical object as well, suitable for use every day. Hand washing recommended.
